Katie enrolled at New York Institute of Technology in September 2006. While at New York Institute of Technology, Katie was a member of the Division II women’s soccer and basketball programs. In her freshman year of soccer, Katie was honored by being named second team all-conference. During her senior year, she became captain of the women’s soccer team. Katie graduated Cum Laude from New York Institute of Technology in May 2010 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Hospitality Management, Business, and Communications.
In May 2010, Katie began her career at Nassau Sports Care as a physical therapy aide where she assisted Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistant’s. In September 2011, Katie enrolled into Nassau Community College's Physical Therapist Assistant program. She had hands on clinical experiences in A. Holly Patterson nursing home, Mercy Hospital acute care rehabilitation, Parker Jewish Hospital sub-acute care rehabilitation, and Professional Physical Therapy outpatient services.
Katie graduated from Nassau Community College's Physical Therapist Assistant program Magna Cum Laude and obtained an Associate of Applied Science in May 2013. She began treating patients full-time at Nassau Sports Care shortly after and was licensed in January 2014. In October 2015, Katie and Fred Kaestel, P.T., became the co-owners of Nassau Sports Care. They have dedicated themselves to create a community facility to treat individuals with a wide variety of diagnoses and the continued promotion of wellness.
